Nesebar-menu.com

The nesebar-menu.com platform is an online guide in Nesebar city. Nesebar is one of the beautifully historic cities in Bulgaria on the coast of Black sea. In the summer many foreign tourist visit it.

The platform it is designed to make it easier for tourists staying at the resort (in the Nessebar area) to guide them for parking spaces, historic landmarks, but main focus is on the restaurants.

Before

The clients is a developer and this platform is a side project of his. He knew he has made a product that is working but he also knew he could upgrade it with better user experience because of the feedback he gets from the vendors (restaurants).

Main focus was the restaurant page and the menu page.  I have made an UX Audit of the whole platform and a reDesign of those two pages.

The solution

There was a couple of buttons without a recognizible action that was on the menu page of the restaurant. Different colors and chaotically placed. The main idea was for a visitor the view the menu through out a QR code on a leaflet in the restaurant and add his favorites. The favorite/basket button was barely recognizable standing alone. There was also missing a trust signals of those restaurants

The problem

Live user interviews revealed that before they needed a further explanation regardnig the use of the menu.
So the landing experience was reDesigned to clarify  the value earlier

The button for "add to favorite" was added along with the food item for ease of understanding what action should the user take. We have added a trust signals as a google review of the restaurant, search input, category of the restaurant, and most importantly a message strip when an items is out of stock.
